Travel Nurse Job Details
Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210)
Contract Length: 13-16 weeks
Start Date: January 5, 2026
End Date: April 27, 2026
Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 07:00-19:30, Night: 19:00-07:30), 3 shifts/week
Hours per Week: 36
Unit: James Corrections Health Unit - PCU (may float to Oncology Medical-Surgical units)
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940 - $1990
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in PCU, Medical-Surgical, or Telemetry nursing
Active Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio RN license required)
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
EPIC charting experience required
Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Ability to float between Oncology MS and PCU units
Must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after booking
Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or supervisor)
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality patient care in a secure corrections health unit and float to Oncology Medical-Surgical units
Prioritize staff and patient safety in a locked unit environment
Manage nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 (PCU), 1:4-5 (Medical-Surgical)
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; respond to emergencies
Administer medications; manage IVs, central lines, and PICC lines
Care for patients with oncology diagnoses, post-surgical needs, and medical conditions (COPD, sepsis, renal failure)
Document care using EPIC; manage medications with Pyxis
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: pharmacy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, radiology, and social services
Participate in rapid response and code teams
Maintain compliance with facility and Ohio state requirements, including credentialing and fingerprinting
