Oncology RN Job Details

Location: Columbus, OH 43210 – Ohio healthcare jobs

Assignment Length: 13-16 weeks

Start Date: January 5, 2026

End Date: April 27, 2026

Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:30)

Hours per Week: 36

Unit: Hematology Oncology (Med Surg Unit, 16 East and West)

Self-scheduling: Flexible scheduling for work-life balance

Orientation: 1 week Mon-Fri dayshift, 1 week on-unit with preceptor (total 72 hours)

Estimated Weekly Salary: $2160-$2210

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Oncology RN experience

Active Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio state license required)

Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification

BLS and ACLS certifications

Proficient in computerized charting (EPIC preferred)

Ability to float to other Medical Surgical and Oncology units

Two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leader)

Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Oncology Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver evidence-based, compassionate care to oncology and hematology patients

Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and manage oncologic emergencies (tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome)

Monitor telemetry, manage central and peripheral lines, perform phlebotomy and IV therapy

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, rapid response)

Implement infection prevention and fall prevention protocols

Participate in self-scheduling and adapt to weekend/holiday coverage

Float to other Med/Surg and Oncology units as needed
