Description:

Join to apply for the Mission Partner role at ANVIL.

In modern warfare, the volume and velocity of mission critical information is growing exponentially. Whoever adapts their national defence fastest to this reality has an invaluable strategic advantage. The Anvil platform ingests this data and enriches it with AI, delivering decision makers the insights they need to move with greater speed and confidence. For over a decade, Anvil has worked to give Canada and its allies this decisive edge.

We believe this edge is created at home. Anvil is 100% Canadian owned and operated, headquartered in Ottawa. A strong Canadian sovereign defence industrial base is critical for giving those who serve the support they need, secure in the knowledge that it will never be compromised. This inner strength enables Canada to look outward – to be a more effective ally and to develop unique capabilities its partners need.

Anvil is currently deployed with national defence and security organisations to support Canada and its allies. We are Canada’s sovereign intelligence capability and the vanguard of Canadian defence renewal.

Job Type: Full Time Hybrid (Ottawa area – 55 Murray Street Office)

Total Compensation: CAD $140,000 – $180,000 base salary – Placement within range based on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

Mission Partners are trusted advisors who work alongside our defence, public safety, and government customers across the full mission lifecycle. You will work with customers to uncover operational problems Anvil can solve, help shape solutions, guide engagements through procurement, and stay involved through adoption and long term customer success. This role is deeply customer focused and relationship driven. Mission Partners build trust with users, operators, analysts, and leadership – ensuring that Anvil delivers sustainable, real world mission impact. Through the solutions you develop, your work will have a meaningful impact on strengthening Canadian national security.

Key Responsibilities

Customer engagement: serve as a primary point of contact for select customers, developing initial engagements into true long term partnerships; build strong relationships with operators, analysts, technical staff, and senior decision makers; understand organisational structures, priorities, and decision pathways.

Mission discovery: work with customers to understand their challenges – lead discovery interviews, workshops, and workflow assessments; clarify operational pain points, constraints, and desired outcomes; document requirements, mission context, and success criteria.

Demonstration and solution development: use customer insights, domain knowledge, and Anvil awareness to shape solutions to customer challenges – collaborate with our Product and Services teams to develop concept and delivery approaches; translate customer problems into structured requirements and deployment paths; deliver compelling, customised demonstrations of Anvil’s capabilities; identify risks, dependencies, integration needs, and sequencing.

Procurement and commercial coordination: work with the customer and internal teams to ensure demand is translated into successful procurements – prepare SOWs, proposals, pricing, and contractual materials; ensure alignment between mission need, technical and product feasibility, and procurement.

Adoption and customer success: support delivery teams post procurement to ensure mission impact and customer success – assist with user adoption, training coordination, and change management activities; track mission outcomes, gather feedback, and support continuous improvement; maintain ongoing relationships to strengthen trust and identify future mission needs.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

All applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Canadian Government Security Clearance to the Top Secret level.

Solution development: 7+ years experience in roles leading end to end solution development for complex organisations, including discovery activities, solution shaping, and implementation; demonstrable ability to understand complex operational needs and translate them into clear, structured requirements.

Domain expertise: experience working with defence, public safety, security, or government organisations; experience in mission focused or operational roles (military, intelligence, emergency services, law enforcement, public safety operations) or demonstrable expertise in these fields.

Relationship building: strong ability to engage with an organisation at all levels across operators, analysts, and senior decision makers; comfortable navigating complex stakeholder environments; dedication to building long term, trusted relationships based on delivering outstanding results.

Technical expertise: exposure to product development, solution engineering, or digital transformation initiatives; understanding of data security, deployment considerations, and technical solution components.

Communication: excellent verbal and written communication skills, including delivering compelling presentations to customers and facilitating discussions and workshops.

Collaboration: strong organisational skills and high attention to detail; demonstrable ability to manage and document stakeholder engagement, and coordinate across technical and non technical teams to support it.

Approach: a mission driven mindset with the drive to solve complex problems and deliver impact for the customer; ability to move between high level strategy and detailed execution, doing whatever is required to achieve results; curious, adaptable, and able to handle ambiguity.
