Role Overview

The Inventory Control Lead is responsible for safeguarding the accuracy, integrity, and financial alignment of all inventories across CDGNY, DSMNY, and DSMLA. As the Senior Manager's strategic partner, this role oversees the daily management of inventory flow, receiving, reconciliation, and data accuracy across all retail, warehouse, and e-commerce channels. The Inventory Control Lead ensures the reliability of Retail Pro data, minimizes shrink and operational risk, and drives process improvements that strengthen end-to-end inventory control.

Key Objectives

Maintain the highest level of inventory accuracy across CDGNY, DSMNY, and DSMLA through rigorous controls, timely reconciliation, and cross-functional coordination.

Drive process improvements across receiving, transfers, adjustments, and inventory workflows to increase efficiency and reduce discrepancies.

Serve as the critical operational link between Logistics, Store Teams, Wholesale, Merchandising, E-Shop, and Finance to ensure data alignment and loss prevention.

Support the Senior Manager in planning, reporting, and system-driven initiatives that enhance inventory visibility and financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational

Oversee all receiving activities for bi-weekly deliveries, ensuring accuracy of counts, paperwork, and system postings.

Manage stock movement between retail stores and warehouse locations; ensure all transfers follow established workflows and are posted accurately.

Partner with E-Shop to maintain online inventory accuracy, proactively resolving "no stock" issues and discrepancies.

Lead operational communication with store teams regarding inventory questions, stock investigations, and discrepancy resolution.

Maintain and resolve negative-on-hand inventory; ensure logs are accurate and up to date.

Review and approve all adjustment memos (QTY and price), ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.

Oversee concession inventory movements, including vouchering, return processing, and reconciliation with external partners.

Validate invoice matches (PO, voucher, vendor invoices) and collaborate with Finance to ensure alignment with AP and inventory valuation.

Support loss prevention efforts by reviewing trends in adjustments, investigating irregularities, and partnering with Store Operations to reinforce best practices.

Assist the Senior Manager with operational projects such as process audits, system updates, workflow redesigns, and warehouse initiatives.

Data Management

Oversee all inventory data within Retail Pro, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal workflows.

Approve and audit inventory movements, transfers, and corrections across all channels and locations.

Maintain detailed discrepancy logs and partner with cross-functional teams to action and resolve issues.

Monitor E-Shop and FF logs, ensuring timely reporting, investigation, and resolution.

Conduct weekly checks of negative on-hand inventory and work with relevant teams for prompt correction.

Audit adjustment, receiving, and transfer logs to ensure accuracy and adherence to SOPs.

Cycle Counts

Lead weekly rolling cycle counts across all locations and categories; ensure results are posted, reconciled, and communicated in a timely manner.

Partner with Merchandising and Store Operations to schedule cycle counts around peak periods, seasonal transitions, and operational constraints.

Implement continuous improvement in cycle count quality, accuracy, and follow-through.

End-of-Season Reconciliation

Support Tachiagari and end-of-season workflows by managing inventory-related tasks and ensuring timely receipt, posting, and reconciliation of returns.

Partner with Logistics, Wholesale, Merchandising, and Finance to investigate and resolve variances in quantities, costs, and system records.

Maintain accurate RPRO data throughout reconciliation and close-out periods.

Ability to manage multiple workflows and deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy.

Skilled at data interpretation, identifying inconsistencies, and providing actionable insights.

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; strong Excel capability required.

Proficiency in Retail Pro (RPRO) & Apparel Magic strongly preferred; additional WMS/ERP familiarity beneficial.

Self-starter with strong initiative and a disciplined approach to process execution.

Key Requirements

4+ years of inventory control, logistics, wholesale, and operations experience in a retail or fashion environment.

Experience working in a multi-brand, multi-location retail setting preferred.

Strong understanding of inventory control principles, reconciliation processes, and financial alignment.

Experience partnering with Store Operations, Merchandising, E-Commerce, Wholesale and Finance teams.

Ability to identify issues quickly, troubleshoot discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.

High level of accuracy and an ability to detect inconsistencies and data errors.
