CNC Programmer / Machinist – CAD / SolidWorks

$30–$35/hr
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer who can program CNC equipment from CAD/SolidWorks models, generate or modify NC code, and support machining operations on precision components. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both programming and hands-on machining.
Key Responsibilities
Program CNC milling machines (generate, edit, and optimize NC code using CAM/CAD tools).
Convert CAD/SolidWorks files into efficient toolpaths and machining strategies.
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines during prototype and production runs.
Interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate machining.
Recommend improvements to tooling, fixturing, and machining processes.
Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and quality checks (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
Maintain accurate documentation, follow safety procedures, and keep work area organized.
Required Experience
CNC programming experience (G-code, NC code editing, CAM outputs, etc.).
Hands-on machining experience with CNC mills (lathe exp. a plus).
Ability to read/interpret CAD drawings, SolidWorks models, and engineering prints.
Knowledge of speeds/feeds, cutters, tolerances, and machining best practices.
Strong math/measuring skills and comfort with inspection tools.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with engineering/production.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
Experience with SolidWorks CAM, Mastercam, Fusion 360 CAM, or similar CAM software.
Prototype machining or small-batch precision production experience.
Experience improving workflows, toolpath efficiency, or programming standards.Company Description
