ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

General description of main/primary duties and responsibilities of the job, aptitude, level of complexity, span of control, autonomy, decision making and judgement. It is central and necessary to the satisfactory performance of the job. Includes the following and other duties as assigned.

Under limited supervision, this position will:

Compile, assess, analyze and prepare budgeting and forecasting information for senior management.

Plan and monitor project progress by tracking key activities, resolving issues, and recommending corrective actions.

Oversee land reporting to business units to meet internal and external requirements, including SOX compliance and asset impairment reviews.

Document and monitor business processes to identify opportunities and recommend controls to improve data management and reporting.

Interpret and evaluate Company’s leases and/or surface agreement expiration information for the Land Department.

Assist managers with creating key performance indicators to help optimize the Land department activities.

Assist with the implementation and support of the department’s Land information systems.

Coordinate with Land Brokerage teams to ensure accuracy of reporting, including invoicing, lease and surface land summaries, monthly project expenditures, vendor coding, etc.

Work with small operators and third parties on leasehold acquisitions, trades and/or surface acquisitions and divestitures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Experience, Licensure (minimum level required)

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

Field of Study: Accounting, Business, Finance, Land or related field.

At least three (3) years of Land, Finance or related experience.

CORE COMPETENCIES

List and describe the required factors (i.e. knowledge, skills, abilities, software programs), that are needed for this role.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. and use/operation of standard office equipment.

Good knowledge of Petroleum Land Management principles.

Good understanding of Oil & Gas Exploration terms, land and legal documents.

Able to plan, analyze, evaluate data, build and maintain reports.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interface with management, colleagues, field personnel, landowners and business contacts.

Advanced understanding of financial and accounting principles, with ability to assess business processes.

Good conflict management skills, with the ability to operate in a high stress environment with a calm and professional demeanor.

Able to be a detail oriented, self-starter, and work independently while maintaining goals and tasks.

Able to understand and exhibit ethical behavior and business practices. Ensure own behavior and the behavior of others are consistent with these standards and align with the values of the company.

Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally.

Able to work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities.

Job is primarily performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system.

Regular business hours.
