Job Title: Full-time Carpenter

Salary: $77,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation

Duties and Skills

• Measure, cut, shape, and prepare timber, plywood, underlay, and related materials for flooring installation.

• Install a wide range of flooring systems including timber, hybrid, laminate, vinyl plank, and carpet flooring in residential and commercial properties.

• Prepare subfloors by levelling, sanding, repairing, marking layouts, and ensuring accurate measurements before installation.

• Remove, repair, replace, and refurbish existing flooring, ensuring high-quality finishes and compliance with company and industry standards.

• Install trims, edging, beading, scotia, transition profiles, stair nosings, and finishing components for completed flooring works.

• Install window blinds, shutters, and internal coverings, ensuring correct measurements, secure fixing, and smooth functionality.

• Install and repair skirting boards, scotia, architraves, transition strips, and other internal finishing carpentry required to complement flooring and blind installations.

• Assist with minor internal carpentry works such as fitting doors, trims, and fixtures where required to complete flooring and blinds projects.

• Repair and alter timber window frames, door frames, outdoor pergolas etc to alter and install timber shutters

• Installing and designing of wall frames and displays

• Read and interpret flooring plans, supplier specifications, material schedules, and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation.

• Safely operate hand tools and power tools including drop saws, jigsaws, nail guns, sanders, carpet stretchers, floor rollers, and cutting tools.

• Conduct site measurements for flooring and blinds, ensuring material quantities and cuts are accurate for the project.

• Construct and repair timber substructures as required for flooring installation.

• Assemble and fit timber components to ensure structural stability and alignment in flooring and internal fit-outs

• Perform maintenance, repairs, and adjustments on installed flooring and blinds to ensure long-term performance and customer satisfaction.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment, following all WHS and company safety protocols during installation and removal works.

Qualification and Experience:

• Cert IV or Diploma in Carpentry / Building & Construction related qualification (minimum trade qualification).

• Minimum 2 years’ carpentry experience across flooring, timber work, fit outs, or similar projects.

• Experience with flooring installation, framing, cabinetry construction are highly regarded.

• Strong understanding of construction measurements, materials, and timber fabrication.

• Proficient in reading technical drawings and interpreting building plans.

• Skilled in timber framing, fix-outs, cladding, and fine finishing work.

• Ability to use measuring tools and carpentry machinery safely and accurately.

• Good physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor and physically demanding environments.

• Ability to work independently and maintain high standards of quality.

• White Card (mandatory).

• Current Australian driver’s licence (preferred but not essential).
