Med/Surg RN Job Details

Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501 (Virginia nursing jobs)

Assignment Length: 13 weeks (January 26, 2026 – April 25, 2026)

Healthcare Setting: General Medicine Med/Surg, LAC Resource Team

Shift: 12-hour nights

Hours per Week: 36

Employment Type: Travel nursing assignment

Start Date: January 26, 2026

End Date: April 25, 2026

Estimated Weekly Salary: $1680-$1800

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical RN experience required

Prior travel nursing experience required

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Virginia or compact state)

BLS certification required

Work history with explanations for any gaps over 90 days

Skills checklist and copy of Nursys/license required for submission

Cerner EMR experience preferred

All requested time off must be submitted at time of application

Locals within 60 miles are not eligible for this travel nursing job

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care on the Medical-Surgical unit

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including students and new hires, in a teaching hospital setting

Perform charge nurse duties as needed (with appropriate training and pay differential)

Float to sister campus (VBH) as required

Participate in bi-weekly Monday orientations

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to hospital policies

Support a culture of learning, teamwork, and clinical excellence
