SQL Developer (Back-End Focus)

Location: Montgomery, AL (Onsite Day 1)

Type: Contract (612 Months)

Overview:

We are seeking a Back-End SQL Developer to support the Alabama Medicaid Agency in Montgomery, AL. This is not a dashboard or visualization rolewe need a highly experienced technical SQL professional with deep expertise in SSIS, SSRS, SQL Server, and ETL development. This is an onsite role from day oneremote is not an option.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain applications using Microsoft SQL Server platform.

Design and develop reports in SSRS and packages in SSIS.

Perform SQL coding for quality measures, data validation, and patch deployment.

Assist with schema design, SQL tuning, and database upgrades.

Create stored procedures, functions, triggers, and database objects.

Collaborate with analysts, project managers, and agency leadership.

Mentor and train junior staff and analysts as needed.

Required Skills:

10+ years of hands-on technical SQL development.

Expertise in SSIS (2016+), SSRS, SQL Server Management Studio.

Strong experience with ETL processes, database architecture, performance tuning.

Excellent communication skills; must be able to handle multiple projects.

Preferred Skills:

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.

Experience with healthcare data is a plus.
