The Senate Democratic Caucus, a communications and outreach team for Democrats in the State Senate seeks a hard-working, driven and detail driven Web Developer for its Sacramento office to develop websites and email campaigns.
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Under the direction of the Caucus Director, The Web Developer will be responsible for working with the Caucus team to develop and maintain Senate websites and code responsive emails for Democratic Senators engaged in public outreach, communication and public policy campaigns. The Web Developer will also be responsible for monitoring and analyzing data, helping to build and improve the user experience of current websites.
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Must have some experience building responsive websites using Drupal (or similar content management system) and Adobe Creative Suite.
Must have experience working independently and in a team environment to meet requirements and deadlines, as well as demonstrated writing and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively and clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
Must have experience in front-end web development.
Background in marketing, experience in SEO or data analysis is preferred.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications include a minimum of 3 years experience in web development, with proficient level in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or other related languages. The ideal candidate will also possess strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, with great attention to detail. Knowledge of Drupal, Wordpress or similar CMS is necessary.
This role requires creativity and understanding of trends and data analytics.
Bachelor's degree required. At least three (3) years relevant experience is required. Legislative experience preferred. Please include verification of your degree with your completed application.
LOCATION, SALARY AND FILING DATE:
This position is located in Sacramento, CA and requires in person attendance .
The Senate's core business hours are 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and may require after hours or weekend work.
Final salary will be commensurate with experience and education. Seniority and significant experience are required to reach the higher end of the salary range.
