Job Description:
Theoris Services is assisting our client in their search for a Control Systems Engineer. In this role, the engineer will design, analyze, verify, and implement automation and control systems across industrial equipment and processes. This position is responsible for creating PLC code, electrical schematics, network architecture, and documentation, as well as leading commissioning, training, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise across all phases of design while supporting system startups, troubleshooting, and standardization of controls practices.
Responsibilities:
Create Design and Functional Design Specifications, PLC code, sequencer pinning documentation, and process-driven control logic.
Develop I/O checkout lists and electrical schematics.
Prepare equipment specifications and cost analyses.
Perform labor and equipment cost estimation.
Design control system network architecture.
Lead Functional Design Specification reviews and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) simulations.
Lead commissioning and on-site customer training activities.
Support ongoing improvements to new and existing controls standards used by the engineering team.
Perform additional duties as assigned. Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Certifications such as EIT, PE, CCE, ISA, or Ignition Core/Gold are a plus.
3–6 years of experience in a related controls or automation engineering field
Proficiency with Windows, PC hardware, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to identify, plan, and track tasks required to deliver full control system designs based on P&IDs and layout drawings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. About Theoris:
