One full-time Technical Trades Worker to work 8hrs per day, Monday through Friday on a 261 day calendar. Responsible for performing skilled technical tasks in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronics, audio-visual equipment, plumbing, electrical services, carpentry, roofing, HVAC equipment and control systems, and landscaping.
Qualifications:
Any combination of training and experience equivalent to the 12th grade
Two years technical training in the field of HVAC or five years equivalent experience in the technical trade
Possession of a valid Ohio Driver's License and a good driving record. Job Duties:
Investigates, identifies malfunctions, makes corrective repairs of facility mechanical systems and properties including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, buildings, roofs, audio-visual equipment, electronic equipment, and landscaping
Performs preventative maintenance
Answers emergency calls to schools and other facilities used by Worthington Schools
Installs, repairs, and replaces all fluorescent, industrial and general lighting fixtures, bulbs and ballasts
Installs new conduit and panels to supply new or additional electrical service
Installs, adjusts, and repairs fire alarm system devices, programs clock and bell systems, transformers, scoreboards (basketball and football), and HVAC systems
Installs and repairs exhaust fans, motors, pumps and electrical appliances
Troubleshoots, repairs, replaces, and/or maintains all types of plumbing fixtures and related equipment
Troubleshoots, repairs, replaces, and/or maintains all types of environmental control devices (heating and cooling)
Reads blueprints and schematic diagrams to locate various installations
Instructs apprentices and/or other maintenance workers on work assignments and equipment operation
Changes programs and scheduling in room point settings in the ALC program
Verifies completion of work assignments
Maintains appropriate written records of work assignments
Installs, maintains and repairs irrigation systems and devices
Operates a motor vehicle to reach various work sites
Maintains all safety certifications as required Job Skills & Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of the standard practices, methods, tools, and equipment in carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs and installation, heating and cooling repair, or cement work
Skill in the use of tools, materials, and equipment used in the building trades
Ability to make estimates of time and material
Ability to understand and work from drawings, blueprints, schematic diagrams, and specifications
Ability to use a computer
Ability to maintain insurability through district fleet policy
Ability to use technology to complete daily and assigned tasks appropriate for the position
Ability to maneuver heavy weights and climb ladders and to perform heavy physical labor (for example: bend, twist, lift arms above head, etc.)
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Ability to maintain records and prepare reports
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others *Salary Range $26.86/hr to $34.28/hr*
