* 7 minutes from downtown Pekin * 10 minutes from downtown Bartonville * 20 minutes from downtown Peoria * 25 minutes from Canton Job Summary: The Paint Prep Tech is responsible for preparation of material outside the paint booth.

Prep includes taping off and covering as well as removal of any parts (with the use of hand held and pneumatic tools) sanding and washing material prior to entry into the paint booth.

Daily tasks also include movement of material through the warehouse with the use of a sit-down forklift.

Material to be moved ranges from 2lbs to 1000lbs.

This position will be required to hang/rig material through the use of an overhead crane and hoist.

An understanding of proper lifting techniques and hoist usage will be required.

This position will require some post-painting light sanding and touch up work.

Entry of material into the computer for shipment tracking and transfers along with email will require some basic computer knowledge.

The Paint Prep Tech will maintain a safe and clean work area by ensuring they clean their area as needed.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities: * Operates fork lift and hoist to organize and distribute production material * Fills each work cell demand for material * Washes, preps, sands and rigs parts on paint line * Understands and follow all ISO and 5S initiatives * Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals * Performs other duties as assigned * Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill * Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures.

Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources * Help with other duty's within the paint department Qualifications: * Previous experience on a sit-down, counter balance truck desired.

Will complete fork lift training upon hire * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
