We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Software Engineering to join our Employee Benefits Claimant digital experience ART. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of talented software engineers to deliver innovative solutions that enhance the claimant experience. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and quality assurance, to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software products.
This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office location (Hartford, CT; Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; and Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their professional goals.
Oversee the development and implementation of software solutions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, processes, and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Manage timelines, Architecture and resources to ensure successful delivery of projects.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the engineering team.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role with 3-4 reportees.
Strong technical background with expertise in software development, architecture, and design.
5+ years of Hands-on development experience with UI Technology like Angular, React and backend technologies (Java or .NET).
2+ years of Hands-on working experience with Scaled Agile methodologies and practices.
Hands-on working knowledge in cloud infrastructure like AWS, GCP and understanding of GenAI engineering concepts
Usage of GenAI development tools like MS copilot and GIT copilot, Amazon Q and the like.
Proven track record of delivering high-quality software products on time and within budget.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of the employee benefits domain and claimant experience is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with cloud technologies and microservices architecture.
Familiarity with modern front-end and back-end development frameworks and tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$132,000 - $198,000
