Project Manager / Mechanical Estimator – Greater Vancouver (Hybrid)

Are you a Mechanical Project Manager or a Mechanical Estimator ready to take your career to the next level? Our client, a respected mechanical contractor in Greater Vancouver, is looking for a technically skilled, proactive professional to join their growing construction and commercial services team.

About the Role

This hybrid position offers a dynamic mix of project management and estimating, giving you the flexibility to work from home, the office, or job sites. You’ll lead meaningful projects—schools, municipal buildings, fire halls, and other retrofit work—while influencing field productivity, supporting business development, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget.

What We’re Looking For

5+ years in mechanical contracting (HVAC, plumbing, hydronic, or multi-trade)

Proven ability to drive field productivity and labour efficiency

Strong estimating skills with experience in take-offs, budgets, and proposals

Confident communicator able to present to clients and support business growth

Technical expertise in blueprint reading, construction math, and BC Building Codes

Proficiency with Procore and QuickBooks; experience with Microsoft Project, CAD, or estimating software is an asset

Journeyperson trade background or degree in Engineering/Construction Management is a plus

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Preconstruction (40–50%)

Prepare accurate material/labour take-offs, budgets, and proposals

Lead pre-tender site walkthroughs and review drawings/specifications

Coordinate tenders with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers

Project Management & Execution (30–40%)

Oversee procurement, scheduling, and subcontractor management

Lead field teams to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet labour targets

Conduct site visits, chair meetings, and resolve field issues

Financial & Reporting (20%)

Monitor project costs and labour performance against budgets

Manage progress draws, change orders, and receivables

Report project status, risks, and financial performance to leadership
