Job Summary:
Provide supportive care in a medical detox and residential environment. Serving as a medication aide upon passing a certification test in the State where you reside. Collaborate with a passionate, dedicated team to ensure patients receive optimal nursing care at all times.
Duties a nd Responsibilities:
Answer call lights and bells to determine client needs
Assist clients with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair, and incontinence care
Assist clients with a range of motion exercises
The movement to and from the bed as needed
Obtain and record vital signs and intake and output as directed
Communicate to the nursing team changes in clients’ clinical condition
Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, and personal interest, as well as a calm environment
Demonstrate pride in the organization by keeping areas clean and safe
Act decisively and quickly in emergencies
Demonstrate ongoing responsibility and commitment through good attendance
Performs duties in an ethical, legal, and caring manner
Performs duties safely and effectively to ensure client comfort and welfare
Respects client rights
Protects confidential client information unless otherwise required to promote client safety and welfare
Follows federal, state, and agency regulations to protect own health and that of others
Seeks guidance from the nurse as needed to perform tasks safely and efficiently
Dispense oral, inhalation, and topical medications to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse unless otherwise allowed by state law.
Observe patients for drug reactions and report any problems to the nurses.
Performing tasks associated with medication administration, including patient vital signs, calculating medication dosages, and stocking the medication cart.
Recording medication administration according to agency procedure
Perform other tasks/duties as assigned
Required License(s)/Certification(s):
Certified Nurse Assistant by the State Department for Aging and Disability Services Health Occupations Credentialing
BLS Provider credentialed by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Education/Experience/Qualification:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
Previous CNA experience preferred but not required
Must have a current CNA certification.
Must have excellent time management skills and be able to work on deadlines
Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times
Previous Medication Aide experience
Full-time
