Day Shift

Includes every other weekend (EOW) and rotating holidays

Hourly Rate & Annual Salary:

Hourly: $30.47 – $45.71

Annualized Range: $63,377 – $95,077

Additional Benefits:

Sign-On Bonus:

Up to $30,000 for experienced RNs

$20,000 for new RNs

Job Duties:

As a Registered Nurse in the Medical Step Down Unit, you will:

Perform comprehensive, age-appropriate patient assessments

Collaborate on interdisciplinary care plans and adjust per patient condition

Deliver and document treatments and medications accurately

Provide care to patients transitioning from ICU to general medical care

Utilize critical thinking and delegation skills in a fast-paced environment

Engage families and patients in care coordination and education

Use EPIC EMR for documentation and communication

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or approved program eligible for VA licensure exam

Active Virginia RN license (or eligibility to obtain)

Current CPR certification

ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required depending on patient needs

Computer skills required for EMR usage

Successful completion of hospital orientation and competency program

Ability to meet essential physical demands and job functions

Preferred Skills:

1+ years of experience in acute care or step-down nursing

Prior use of EPIC EMR

Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS, CCRN)

Strong communication and team collaboration skills

Experience caring for high-acuity patients outside of ICU

Mentorship or charge nurse experience

BSN degree (preferred but not required)
