Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210

Assignment Length: 13 weeks

Start Date: January 12, 2026

End Date: April 13, 2026

Shift: 3x12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Hours per Week: 36

Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940 - $1990

Healthcare Setting: Surgical Step-Down/Progressive Care Unit

Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics

Unit Size: 23 beds, daily census of 22

Weekend Coverage: Required

Orientation: 24 hours

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience in a hospital or healthcare setting

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Ohio state or compact nursing license required

Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required

IV certification required

Proven experience monitoring and interpreting telemetry

Must pass telemetry test

EPIC electronic health record (EHR) charting experience required

Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed

Two professional references required (one from a manager, director, or formal leader)

Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a surgical step-down/progressive care unit

Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage IVs, and administer medications as a skilled Med/Surg Telemetry RN

Perform general nursing duties, including phlebotomy, wound care, and patient education

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams such as IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services

Document patient care using EPIC EHR system

Float to other hospital units as required based on census and staffing needs

Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed

Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and healthcare regulations
