IT System Administrator

Description

The Systems Administrator is expected to be highly skilled and self-motivated with experience in Hyper-V Clustering, server administration, scripting, and basic network fundamentals, to join our team. This role emphasizes technical expertise, problem-solving, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Deploy and manage Hyper-V Clusters, including shared storage, disk configurations, and load balancing.

Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server and Linux environments.

Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and system management.

Collaborate with network team to support Fortinet firewalls, switches, and access points at the Oak Ridge facilities.

Monitor system performance, ensure uptime, and implement proactive maintenance strategies.

Maintain documentation for systems architecture, configurations, and procedures.

Provide on-site support to ensure rapid response to manufacturing needs.

Lead technical projects and proactively identify and resolve issues.

Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Required

Minimum 5 years of experience.

Knowledge of Hyper-V and related infrastructure.

Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, and PowerShell scripting.

Working knowledge of network engineering, including cabling and basic switch configuration.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred

Experience in manufacturing or industrial IT environments.

Familiarity with SAN/NAS storage systems

Experience with Veeam Backups.

Familiarity with SQL queries, PowerBI, and PowerAutomate.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Physical Requirements

Clearly communicate in verbal and written form.

Ability to lift 25lbs unassisted.

Ability to sit at a desk and work on computer for extended periods.

Qualifications

Education High School (required)

Associates of Computer Science (preferred)
