This position plays a key role in supporting both production and engineering by machining a wide range of materials, including plastics and various metals, to produce high-quality production parts, tooling, and fixtures.

The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver who thrives in developing innovative machining solutions that directly support Watts' mission of providing safe, clean water for the world.This position reports to the Value Stream Leader.

This role is onsite and is based in St.

Pauls, NC.Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:\nLoad and unload parts to and from machines, jigs, or fixtures while checking castings or components for flaws or discrepancies in raw materials or from prior operations.\nMust complete in-process inspection on components being produced, along with necessary SPC charting to document continuous process control.\nCompletion of production records such as recap cards and pan tickets.

This includes use of gages and precision measuring equipment.\nStudies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup Repair/Rebuild Customer Product returns.\nMeasures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.\nSelects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.\nCalculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.\nStarts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.\nVerifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.\nSets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.\nFits and assembles parts into complete assembly.

Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.\nInstalls machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.

Operates welding equipment to cut or weld parts.\nConfers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.\nMaintain equipment and ensure a clean, organized work area.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent; or a combination of education and experience.\n3+ years of experience in CNC and manual machining.\nProficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.\nStrong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and material properties, including G-code and M-code, and basic edits.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nExcellent problem-solving and communication skills.\nUnderstanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures.\nMust successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nGraduation from a technical school or apprenticeship program.\nFamiliarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.\nKnowledge of safety standards and best practices in a machining environment.\n\nGeneral Applicable Company Competencies:\nCommitment to Watts' values of integrity, accountability, continuous improvement and innovation, and transparency.\nPunctuality and dependability.\nAbility to be flexible and adapt to changing work priorities and stressful conditions.\nAdherence to all personnel policies, procedures, and standards of process as implemented by Watts.\nMaintain productive and collaborative relationships with other Watts employees.\nAdherence to Watts' seven cultural beliefs: Growth Mindset, Customer-Focused Innovation, Constant Communication, Clear Goals, Collaborate Globally, Be Inclusive, and Take Action.\n\nWorking Conditions: While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility.
