Clarification from the agency This announcement is open to the Public.VideosDuties Installs, modifies connects, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs overhead and underground primary electrical distribution systems and street lighting equipment.
Works alone on hot wires not to exceed 480 volts and as required, higher voltage if under immediate qualified supervision.
Installs, modifies, repairs, troubleshoots (traces and locates defects), loads, and tests new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems fixtures, controls and equipment.
Determines, installs and repairs building wiring, switches, relay boxes, circuit breakers, etc., in the size, type and arrangement needed for proper and safe operation.
Locates and diagnosis trouble and determines extent of repairs necessary; plans and lays-out the routing, placement, type, size, gauge, balance, load, continuity and proper safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems equipment and controls.
Must possess a valid state commercial driver's license (CDL) with class B endorsement.

Qualifications To qualify for a High Voltage Electrician your resume and supporting documentation must support: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties at the level for which you are applying.
Emphasis is placed on how you gained the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time, and the required ability or potential to perform the job.
Applicants who do not meet the screen-out element (SOE) will be eliminated from further competition.
The SOE and minimum qualifications for this position is: Ability to perform the common tasks of the job to be filled but under close supervision, such as basic knowledge of the high voltage electrical trade Selective Placement Factor: Incumbent must possess a valid state commercial driver's license (CDL) with class B endorsement.
To be found well-qualified as an ICTAP applicant, individuals need to demonstrate the ability to perform the common tasks of the job to be filled as well as more complex duties such as installing, modifying, connecting, inspecting, troubleshooting and/or repairing overhead and underground primary high voltage electrical distribution lines serving a military installation.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
