Unite is seeking experienced structural fitters with 5 years of verifiable experience in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Must pass a blueprint reading test. Hours of work are 10 hours daily, Monday to Friday, and 8 hours on Saturdays. No Per Diem for these structural fitter jobs. This construction site job is long-term, permanent work at a fabrication shop. Must pass a blueprint reading Test at the construction site. This is a permanent, full-time position, and the salary is dependent on experience. Working at a fabrication shop in Belle, Louisiana. A Structural Fitter should have expertise in fitting using various metals and materials, as well as a strong understanding of safety protocols. The successful structural fitter or ship fitter construction candidate will be responsible for reading blueprints, interpreting sketches, and utilizing specialized tools to complete projects efficiently at the fabrication shop, working closely with a welder. We are seeking a construction fitter who can work independently and is highly motivated to deliver high-quality structural work. Structural Fitters at the fabrication site will be working with a welder daily. This is not an offshore job, but the items being fabricated are intended for use on an offshore rig.
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
Fabricate and assemble metal components using fitting techniques.
Operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
Perform quality control checks on welds.
Maintain all required equipment in accordance with safety regulations.
Perform preventative maintenance on welding equipment with the welder.
Summary
As a Structural Fitter, you will be integral to the fabrication and assembly of structural components, ensuring they meet precise specifications. Reporting to the Lead Fabricator, you will utilize core skills such as blueprint reading, welding, and power tools to construct durable structures. Your premium skills in MIG and TIG welding, along with your experience on construction sites, will enhance the quality of your work. Your relevant rigging and mechanical skills will also help you move forward effectively. Just to let you know, no TWIC Card is required for this position, reflecting our commitment to safety and compliance in the workplace.
Qualifications
Proficient in blueprint reading and fabrication techniques
Skilled in welding processes, including MIG and TIG welding
Experience with power tools and hand tools
Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to operate cranes and forklifts
Familiarity with rigging and pipe threading
Valid TWIC Card required for construction site access

Pay: $29 to $30 per hour
