The Career – What You Will Do

Apothecary Products, LLC (APL) is seeking a talented SolidWorks Drafter to join our team in Burnsville, Minnesota! In this role, you will be responsible for having a solid foundation in 3D modeling and drafting using SolidWorks, with experience translating conceptual designs into detailed technical drawings. This role also supports product development, production, and quality assurance by producing accurate and timely CAD documentation.

Essential Duties + Responsibilities:

Develop precise 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings in SolidWorks for components and complex assemblies, ensuring manufacturability and design intent.

Collaborate closely with engineering teams to translate design concepts into production-ready documentation that meets all specifications, standards, and quality requirements.

Maintain and organize CAD model and drawing libraries, ensuring accurate revision control, file management, and documentation integrity.

Support prototype development and design reviews by preparing visual aids, exploded views, and presentation materials that clearly communicate design intent.

Conduct tolerance stack-up analyses and basic simulations to validate fit, form, and function prior to production release.

Ensure compliance with internal drafting standards and industry best practices, maintaining consistency across all design documentation.

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve design or drafting issues in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.

Coordinate with vendors and production teams to clarify design details, resolve manufacturability challenges, and support smooth product transitions.

Enter and maintain accurate product specification data within Specright to support company-wide product information management.

Contribute to process improvements and cross-functional initiatives that enhance product quality, documentation accuracy, and overall team efficiency.

Essential Skills + Abilities:

Education: Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting & Design Technology, or related field.

Work Experience: 1-4 years of experience in SolidWorks drafting or mechanical design.

Preferred Experience: Experience with injection molding, plastics, resins, and/or silicones.

Compensation for this role ranges from $50,785.00 to $76,177.00 annually, commensurate with experience
