The Behavioral Health Technician plays a critical role in supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges by providing compassionate and effective care within clinical settings. This position focuses on assisting with clinical assessments, crisis intervention, and the development and implementation of discharge plans to ensure continuity of care. Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Behavioral Health Technician training program or relevant certification is required.
Demonstrated experience or training in clinical documentation and crisis management within a mental health setting.
Basic knowledge of mental health disorders, clinical assessments, and patient care principles.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree or higher in psychology, social work, or a related behavioral health field.
Previous experience working with children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances (SED).
Certification in crisis intervention or de-escalation techniques.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and advanced clinical documentation software.
Training in trauma-informed care and culturally competent practices.
Responsibilities:
