ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Leverage your electrical, mechanical, integrated control, and water chemistry knowledge to support data center operations.

Oversee contractor and consultant activities for day-to-day operations and critical maintenance, focusing on UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and chiller maintenance.

Ensure the critical facilities operations (CFOps) team achieves its operational goals effectively.

Manage budgets, staff planning, NPS feedback, and drive operational efficiencies.

Collaborate with construction management and external partners for seamless commissioning processes, ensuring integration and testing of new systems while keeping critical systems online.

Work alongside the Regional Director and Finance team to create and monitor annual budgets.

Team up with the Regional Director to execute a vigorous preventive and predictive maintenance schedule for all critical systems.

Enhance data center efficiency by analyzing current operations and promoting technological advancements for cost reduction.

Conduct training sessions to equip the Mechanical/Electrical Data Center Technicians and Facility Technicians with essential knowledge on equipment and CFOps processes.

Maintain thorough documentation of all training procedures.

Implement proactive measures to prevent unplanned outages impacting our customers.

Directly manage electrical loading and capacity for data floors and auxiliary areas, including client installations and database systems.

Participate in an on-call rotation, responding to emergencies at the data center.

Provide leadership by implementing training programs and serving as a mentor to site personnel.

Willingness to work late nights approximately every other week to accommodate critical maintenance windows.

Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Regular and predictable attendance is essential for success in this role.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Maintain confidentiality and work effectively within a team.

Understand current NFPA Electrical, Fire, and Life Safety codes and building regulations.

Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, and related compliance standards.

Possess expertise in industrial safety practices including lockout/tag out, arc flash protection, and OSHA regulations.

Ability to analyze data trends effectively and learn various critical monitoring systems quickly.

Exemplify outstanding customer service and possess excellent communication skills.

Demonstrate attention to detail, organization, and ability to multitask effectively.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

Extensive experience with large-scale mechanical and electrical systems such as 12kV switchgear, diesel-powered generators, UPS systems, batteries, and power monitoring systems.

Strong skills in mechanical and electrical systems design, layout, operations, and ability to interpret technical drawings.

Capability to conduct safety assessments and train staff on systems and protocols.

Foster a process-driven team environment and promote logical problem-solving approaches.

Commitment to quality with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

7-10 years of progressively responsible data center/critical facilities experience with at least three years in a leadership role.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs.

Primarily sedentary with some walking and standing required.

Able to communicate effectively by phone.

Proficient in close visual tasks.

Dexterity required for operating technical instruments and computer equipment.

WORK CONDITIONS

Work environment typical of data centers, with varying temperatures and noise levels.

Frequent use of a computer or workstation required.

Ability to thrive in a critical, fast-paced atmosphere with changing priorities.

Must be available to respond to emergencies.

Willingness to work outside of standard hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call duties.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Possibility of travel to other NTT domestic sites.

This is an on-site position; telecommuting is not allowed.

CPR/First Aid/AED certification is required during employment.

Safety footwear with solid leather or composite soles is mandatory.

A valid driver's license is necessary for those managing direct reports.

This position requires on-site work at a data center facility and may involve using a personal mobile device, with a monthly stipend provided if applicable.

NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location, with a base salary range of $124,600 - $171,300.
