IBM Mainframe Operator

We are looking with candidates with current Public Trusts, DOJ Public Trust is preferred, but no mandatory.
Candidate will have to complete the DOJ Public Trust if they do not have it. They must be US Citizens to qualify.
Candidates must be screened with the DOJ Requirements, and Soft Credit check after a work order is extended.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
• Serves as an Operator for the mainframe environment, which provides mainframe systems support for
customers in an enterprise data center environment.
• Responsible for the monitoring, operations, integrity, and technical support of the Department's IBM
System mainframe environment.
• Perform systems operation support, including mainframe operator administration, general troubleshooting,
and troubleshooting of complex console issues for hardware, software, and network components.
• Document all platform service processes and procedures and maintain the artifacts in a document
repository.
• Provide monitoring support for mainframe LPARS across all datacenters.
• Remotely log on to the IBM HMC sites.
• Contact on call support via phone/email for systems issues escalated after hours.
• Maintain a Daily Shift Turnover report to communicate issues to other shifts
• Answer incoming calls and direct request to system engineers, if problems can't be resolved quickly.
• Monitor, test and oversee scheduled Software Upgrades
• Participate in Disaster Recovery Exercises as requested.
• Monitor and respond to outstanding console messages
• Engage with clients on critical conference calls (Teams) to resolve application issues
• Cancel client user ID's and jobs as requested on mainframe LPARs.
• Close and start system initiators and NJE Lines.
• Monitor the Upstream backup Jobs and sent an email marking their completion
• Activate and recover System Consoles for all LPARS when required.
• Shutdown and IPL system LPARs per Email request.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years relevant work experience as a Mainframe Operator with an IT equipment
vendor, service provider or data center; 4+ additional years of related experience may be considered in lieu
of degree.
• Senior Level hands-on knowledge of Mainframe Operations is required for this position.
• Strong analytical, performance tuning and problem resolution skills.
• Proven ability to determine, analyze and resolve software and device related problems.
• Ability to work multiple shifts when assigned.
• Provide online documentation to assist with training goals
• Demonstrated high level communication skills and ability to develop positive relationships with customers,
team members, vendor service providers and stakeholders.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate problems and solutions both verbally and in writing to the Government Lead.
• Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with speed and efficiency.
• Ability to work closely with others in a team environment
• Ability to interface with all customer levels.

Position Details:
Pay Rate / Range:_$40-43/hr The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position's responsibilities; the candidate's experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.
