Our dedicated Water Resources Team provides services in the following areas: stormwater management design, floodplain analysis and permitting, dam breach analysis and permitting, municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) permitting, stormwater construction inspections, and stormwater operation and maintenance program support.

This Opportunity

We are seeking a Water Resources Senior Project Manager to join our Water Resources Team in Chantilly, VA. This individual will work directly with the Director of Water Resources to manage team operations and projects across all water resources service offerings.

The successful candidate will oversee a wide variety of water resources projects of varying scales and complexities, assist with managing a talented group of project managers and design engineers, perform QA/QC reviews, and advance team design processes. Responsibilities also include supporting contract management activities such as writing proposals, preparing additional work authorizations, billing, business development, and general client management.

A strong foundation in stormwater management, floodplains, and dam design/management in Virginia is required, with preferred additional experience in Maryland and DC.

General Job Responsibilities

Review of stormwater management concept plans and construction documents

Review of H&H models for floodplain and dam modeling

Review of technical reports and permit applications

QA/QC of construction documents, permit applications, certifications, and other deliverables

Research regulatory codes, manuals, and standards

Project and client management

Development of schedules and work plans

Manage multiple projects and deadlines

Manage multiple team members

Coordinate with internal and external teams

Meet and coordinate with regulators to address comments and facilitate approval

Lead construction administration

Contract management (proposal, AWAs, billing, negotiation)

Perform other duties as required Required Qualifications

Minimum of 10+ years of related professional experience

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline

Professional Engineer (PE) license in VA, with ability to obtain in other states as required

Previous experience managing teams of multiple engineers

Self-motivated individual who can handle multiple projects and responsibilities while supporting practice growth

Ability to adapt to varying regulatory standards among jurisdictions

Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills

Strong quality control skills and attention to detail

Advanced mathematical/analytical skills

Proficiency with H&H modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-1, HY-8, Flowmaster Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency with ArcMap or similar software

Proficiency with AutoCAD
