JOB SUMMARY
The IT/ET Technician is tasked with supporting and maintaining various electronic and information technology systems at the airport. This position demands a solid understanding of computer and electronic systems, which includes circuit boards, processors, software applications, and hardware components. The technician will diagnose, fix, and upkeep systems like parking equipment, airport access gates, and other IT/ET infrastructure. The aim is to guarantee reliability, efficiency, and consistency throughout the Airport's technology systems to support departmental and organizational functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform a variety of technical tasks related to the installation, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of desktop support systems, switches, parking equipment, airport access gates, and other airport technology systems.
Troubleshoot and repair parking equipment including readers, feeders, ticket printers, and entry/exit lane components. The parking infrastructure includes 8 entry lanes, 6 express exit lanes, 6 cashier booths, 2 test lanes, 1 encoder, and 2 bypass hourly/daily lanes.
Provide technical guidance and support to parking department personnel as needed.
Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of CCTV systems throughout the airport.
Support Operations Supervisors with live viewing or playback issues related to CCTV.
Respond to IT support requests via phone, email, or in person; create service tickets, document issues accurately, and ensure timely resolution or appropriate escalation.
Ensure service tickets are addressed promptly and closed or escalated in accordance with IT support standards.
Maintain accurate records of equipment installation, repair, and removal.
Log and track hardware malfunctions and service activities.
Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base (KB) articles to support end users and internal IT to streamline troubleshooting processes.
Provide feedback and recommendations to the IT Administrator and relevant department leaders to improve IT services and operations.
Analyze log files, identify system errors, and implement or document corrective actions.
Assist with provisioning of user accounts and IT services for airport staff.
Document technical work, processes, and infrastructure requirements clearly and consistently.
Support the planning and execution of IT department projects and operational goals.
Participate in the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and upgrading of IT systems including networks, airport systems, servers, workstations, operating systems, and associated hardware.
Promote efficient utilization of IT resources-including personnel and equipment-across departments.
Perform preventive maintenance on network and systems hardware.
Support asset management practices for IT hardware, software, and related equipment.
Participate in system testing and feasibility studies.
Adhere to IT department policies and procedures, including those related to network architecture, standards, procurement, and service delivery.
May be required to travel between airport facilities or buildings.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This is not a supervisory position.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of two years' experience in personal computer and network installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting. Possession of an associate degree in Computer Science or other related degree or applicable personal computer certifications (CompTIA Network, MCSE or MCNA, or verifiable experience that demonstrates the above listed knowledge, skills and capabilities.
Will be required to work scheduled nightly maintenance windows. Must be able to work flexible hours when call into work on nights or weekends for any major issue affecting service affecting, that cannot be cleared via remote access or telephone call to onsite personnel.
Must obtain and maintain a valid state of Alabama driver's license. May be required to work overtime, or alternate hours, holidays, and weekends as necessary for the efficient operation of the department. Ability to Pass Criminal History Record Background Check, physical exam, Alcohol/Drug test, and employer reference & credit check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Works requires frequent physical effort, such as sitting, standing, walking, kneeling to gain access to equipment, crawling, climbing ladders, lifting, and/or carrying objects of moderate weight (15-50 pounds). Occasional team lifting may be required for heavier items exceeding 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is indoors and outdoors, and it is noisy. Exposure to environmental conditions to include all weather conditions i.e., hot, and cold temperatures, humid, wet conditions, traffic, bright/dimmer light, fumes/noxious odors, dusts, and pollen.
SAFETY
The position does not require the use of protective clothing and equipment.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
