Title:Construction Manager

KBR is looking for a Construction Manager with broad direction have responsibility over a group of technical staff on major (under 5 million construction work hours) projects. This role will liaise with the engineering firm for the project, and preparation of executive reports, initiation of progress reporting systems and interfacing with client representatives.
The Construction Manager will act as the channel of communications with the Contractor on all matters relevant to the satisfactory completion of the works under the contract and supervise the works to ensure that they are carried out in accordance with the contract.
***This role will mobilize and be located at the Project Site in Lobito, Angola***
Responsibilities:
Review and provide input to the EPC Contractor the site plan for site development, logistics, temporary facilities, infrastructure, indirects, subcontracts strategy requirements for the given area of responsibility
Responsible for the review of the EPC Contractor construction execution plan, CMT organization, defining the extent of modularization and site schedules through pre-commissioning for the assigned units
Managing significant planning and early contractor engagement for the EPC Unit scopes of work
Prepare and perform risk analysis on construction components of the project schedule, cost and execution methodology
Focus on addressing and removing hurdles to efficient construction and actively monitors productivity on site, advising (acting on behalf of) the construction manager of ways to improve the productivity metrics through emerging construction technologies
Liaison with the PMC engineering team for the project, and preparation of executive reports, initiation of progress reporting systems and interfacing with client representatives
Provide constructability resources and ideas to engineering
Identify & monitor site construction planning initiatives for approved projects
Identify constructability requirements for necessary design changes
Input into enhancing the design, contracting strategy and execution planning all in consideration of constructability through input into HSE, cost, schedule, and quality
Work with the Project Engineer and Construction Management Team in the development of a construction strategies including cost & schedule optimization to effectively support EPC Contractor execution of construction deliverables for the project
Coordinate with Project Engineer and Construction Management Team to bring a coordinated approach to the overall project scope, quality, cost, and schedule expectations
Ensure that planning of the project deliverables from Engineering and Contracts & Procurement is line with the construction sequence and further to the hand over sequence
Check that all notices and wayleaves are arranged in a timely manner
Make sure that there is no delay in providing the Contractor with full information required for the ordering of Prime Cost Items
Supervise and record any tests of materials
Make certain that up-to-date record drawings are produced and that progress photographs are taken and maintained
Keep and organize careful notes of all disputes arising out of the interpretation of the contract so that, if necessary, the form of contract and specification can be amended for similar future works
Implement the company's Safety Policy
Notify the Contractor and others of any hazardous situations
Confirm designs make optimal use of cold work, modularization, and off plots construction to minimize HSSE exposure on site and that the final design has provided an appropriate construction risk assessment versus economic benefit via definition, timing, and facilitation of the Constructability Review(s)
Some travel required
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related field
15 + years of directly related progressive experience within the O&G industry with at least 5 years in management
Strong understanding of ISBL Units for a Refinery
Strong understanding of OSBL Units for a Refinery
Recent work leading major construction effort with an EPC or PMT
Proven ability supporting Pre-FEED and FEED efforts with project definition, EPC contract strategy, schedule development, risk analysis and mitigation, and early contractor engagement
Proven ability with schedule development
