Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our healthcare team at Walton County Jail. As a vital member of our medical staff, you will provide high-quality patient care in a correctional setting. Your expertise will play a crucial role in assessing patient needs, implementing care plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal health outcomes.

Shifts available:

Days: 7pm-7am Shift Diff $4

Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ health status, including taking vital signs and performing diagnostic evaluations.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV insertion and airway management.

Provide emergency care as needed, utilizing skills in basic life support and spinal tap procedures.

Document patient information accurately using the Epic electronic health record system.

Educate patients and their families on health management, treatment plans, and workers compensation law as applicable.

Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary based on ongoing evaluations.

Experience:

Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing.

1 year of nursing experience required.

Active BLS through American Heart Association or Red Cross (online only not accepted)

Correctional nursing experience preferred.

Experience in an Outpatient, Primary or Urgent care setting is preferred.

Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation processes and patient management protocols.

Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
