Job Description
Guardian of the Park: Overnight Security & Maintenance Unicoi State Park & Lodge Helen, GA While the rest of the world sleeps, Unicoi State Park comes alive in a different way—and you’re the one who keeps it all humming. We’re looking for a versatile Overnight Security & Maintenance Technician to be the heartbeat of the park from dusk till dawn.
If you’re a night owl who loves the quiet of the woods, the satisfaction of fixing things with your own two hands, and the pride of being the "go-to" person in any situation, this isn't just a job—it's your domain.
Why You’ll Love This Role
Autonomy: You own the night. You’ll manage your workflow and tackle challenges as they arise.
The Office: Your "cube" is 1,000+ acres of Georgia’s most beautiful mountain scenery.
Variety: No two shifts are the same. You’re part mechanic, part safety officer, and part guest-service pro.
What Your Night Looks Like
The Fixer: You’ll tackle everything from "ghost in the pipes" plumbing to electrical troubleshooting and HVAC upkeep.
The Protector: You’ll conduct nightly rounds, ensuring our guests feel safe and the property remains secure under the stars.
The Hero: Whether it’s helping a guest with a late-night request or completing a preventive maintenance project, you’re the reason the park looks perfect when the sun comes up.
The Specialist: Work alongside the engineering team on special projects and keep our tools and workspaces in peak condition.
Are You Our Perfect Match?
"You don't just see a problem; you see a puzzle you're ready to solve."
You’re Capable: You have a solid grasp of the "big four"—Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, and Mechanical.
You’re Calm: When a guest has an issue at 3:00 AM, you respond with a professional, helpful "I’ve got this" attitude.
You’re Reliable: You take pride in working independently and doing the job right the first time.
The Essentials
High school diploma/GED and a background in maintenance or repairs.
Physical stamina to hike, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs (it’s a state park, after all!).
Tech-savvy enough to use Microsoft Office and internal systems.
Comfortable working outdoors and around machinery.
