We're looking for a senior, hands-on Electronics Engineer to design and ship embedded AI reference systems and evaluation kits built around our accelerator SoCs.These systems are reference and demonstration platforms rather than full consumer products, so they will be intentionally tight in scope, quick to iterate, and focused on showcasing specific technical capabilities.
You will join a small growing embedded systems team (currently two engineers) and own projects end-to-end. You'll regularly work across system architecture, PCB design, firmware, bring-up, validation, and debug, so specialization is not critical. You will also work closely with silicon, ML, compiler, and business teams, and will participate in customer technical discussions and external design reviews.
Responsibilities:
The Embedded Electronics Engineer will:
Design embedded AI reference and demo platform hardware end-to-end using our AI SoCs (system architecture, schematic, layout, fab, assembly, bring-up, validation)
Develop firmware and drivers for our EVKs and demo platforms.
Build internal test and validation platforms for hardware and firmware releases
Support customer hardware and firmware designs through technical reviews and debug support
Participate in cross-functional design reviews involving firmware and silicon interfaces
Translate customer feedback and field issues into concrete design improvements
Manage low-volume, quick-turn production of your designs
Own projects independently and deliver customer-facing embedded systems Requirements
The candidate must have:
Experience independently shipping multiple embedded hardware systems you personally designed and brought up
Strong embedded C/C++ skills and experience writing firmware and drivers for microcontroller-based bare-metal systems
Experience designing for extremely power-constrained systems (1 mW is a lot of power to us)
Experience with ARM Cortex-M and RISC-V microcontrollers
Experience with board-level serial interfaces: I2S, I2C, SPI, QSPI, PDM, UART
Experience with mixed-signal and audio hardware design (ADCs, DACs, mic/speaker paths, codecs)
Proficiency with lab bring-up and debug tools: logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, debuggers, power analyzers
Experience with unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and hardware-in-the-loop testing
Ability to independently own projects and deliver production-quality results
PCB rework, microsoldering, and hardware repair skills
Comfort working in a startup environment with evolving priorities The ideal candidate will also have:
Contributions to open-source hardware or firmware projects
Experience as an applications engineer
Experience with Python and Github Actions for test and automation
Experience with proprietary Bluetooth audio SoCs (OnSemi, Airoha, BES, Qualcomm, etc.)
Familiarity with AI inference accelerators or embedded AI systems
Experience with Xilinx SoC / FPGA toolchains
Experience designing custom file formats for efficient AI model and firmware storage
Experience with JLCPCB for quick-turn PCBA.
Basic 3D design and 3D printing skills (for enclosures) Benefits
401(k)
Medical insurance
Vision insurance
Dental insurance
Commuter benefits
Disability insurance
Paid maternity leave
Paid paternity leave
