Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Assist the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team globally with the implementation and maintenance of safety, health and environmental programs and initiatives.

Assist site locations with requests

Use of EHS system such as EHS Management System, KHA (SDS management), LMS (Safety training), document control systems, etc.

Assist with environmental monitoring and sustainability initiatives

Help maintain and organize EHS records, documentation, and compliance reports in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements

Conduct data entry, tracking, and analysis of safety & environmental metrics

Support data collection and documentation related to workplace safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory requirements

Support the preparation of training materials, safety communications, and awareness campaigns

Perform additional administrative, research, or project-based tasks related to EHS programs as assigned

Final presentation to EHS on the internship Education & Experience

Education Level Required: Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree

Majors: Environmental, Health, Safety

Relevant coursework or extracurricular experience in EHS is a plus.

Open to currently enrolled students or those who have graduated within one year of the internship start date. Skills & Other Requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Team-oriented but able to work independently when needed.

Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to detail and time management.

Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, Planner)

Familiar with AI tools such as Copilot, Chat GPT, Claude, etc

Able to use internal programs with appropriate training

Ability to use a computer fluently

Ability to pull data, sort, create reports

Internship Duration: 10 - 20 weeks.

This role will be based on-site [minimum of 3 days in office].

Regular use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary. Physical Requirements

Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer or in meetings.

Use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling documents.

Occasional lifting of objects or materials up to 20 pounds for administrative tasks.

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.

Safety Requirements

All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. EHS standards.
