Job Description :

Key Responsibilities:

Champion a people-first culture by fostering employee engagement, well-being, performance, safety, quality, and environmental values.

Provide general HR support, including maintaining employee files, coordinating annual reviews, employee surveys, job descriptions, and salary administration.

Ensure HR compliance and labor relations excellence by handling reporting (e.g., VETS-100, EEO-1), adhering to federal, state, and local employment laws, and mitigating risks.

Manage talent acquisition, including job postings, recruitment, interviewing, pre-employment screenings, new hire orientation, exit interviews, and full employee lifecycle support.

Promote a safety-first culture by leading initiatives and aligning HR programs with safety objectives.

Offer guidance to employees and supervisors on policies, benefits, and sensitive matters while ensuring legal compliance and ethical decisions.

Assess and improve company culture, support organizational development, engagement initiatives, and high-performing teams.

Assist with mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and business expansions.

Drive HR best practices, process improvements, performance metrics, and operational efficiency.

Handle additional duties, special projects, and people strategy initiatives as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Associate degree (or equivalent with documented HR work experience).

5 years of HR experience.

Knowledge of California HR best practices, employment law, and compliance regulations.

Experience in a unionized construction materials supply industry with collective bargaining agreements.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize projects, and meet deadlines.

Initiative, judgment, confidence, and eagerness to learn company practices, policies, and procedures.

Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage all levels.

Commitment to confidentiality and professional handling of sensitive information.

Strong MS Office Suite proficiency and solid math skills.

Stable work history with longevity in roles (prefer more than 1 year per position).

Construction or manufacturing company experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.

5-8 years of HR experience.

Professional HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, PHRca).

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards), HRIS (e.g., UKG), or other HR tools; SmartSheets.

Implementing employee engagement strategies, training/development programs, and surveys.

Bilingual in English and Spanish for diverse workforce communication and compliance.
