Shipping & Receiving Clerk Holt, MI

Salary Range: $41,000 - $61,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips, noting discrepancies.

Safely unload and receive incoming materials, components, and finished goods.

Accurately document and log all incoming and outgoing shipments into inventory management systems.

Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling products according to customer orders and shipping requirements.

Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery of shipments, ensuring timely and efficient logistics.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving area.

Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.

Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

Recommended Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in a shipping and receiving or warehouse environment.

Proficiency in using shipping software and inventory management systems.

Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification may be required).

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documenting shipments.

Bonus Qualifications

- Experience with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Fishbowl)

- Forklift certification

- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles

- Basic understanding of shipping regulations and documentation (e.g., BOL, packing slips)

- Experience with hazardous materials handling and shipping procedures
