Position Overview:
A highly regarded and trial-focused law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its growing practice. The firm is known for handling complex, high-exposure civil matters and for providing associates with meaningful courtroom experience and substantive responsibility early in their careers. The Litigation Associate will play a key role in managing cases from inception through resolution, working closely with senior attorneys while maintaining significant ownership over assigned matters.
Location: Columbus, OH (on-site)
Pay: $120,000 - $175,000 annually
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and support civil litigation matters in state and federal courts
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and substantive legal memoranda
Conduct legal research and assist in developing case strategy
Handle written discovery, document production, and deposition preparation
Take and defend depositions, including fact and expert witnesses
Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
Communicate directly with clients regarding case developments and strategy
Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit coordination
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of litigation experience in a law firm environment
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Experience drafting substantive motions and managing discovery
Deposition and courtroom experience preferred
Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent oral advocacy and client communication abilities
Active admission to the applicable state bar in good standing
