Genesis10 is currently seeking a Programmer II (Data Engineering) for a hybrid 3-month contract to hire opportunity with a Regional Financial Institution located in Columbus, OH.
Pay range: $45.00-52.50 per Hour
This role supports the development and maintenance of data pipelines and data solutions that enable enterprise data and analytics initiatives. Working closely with senior engineers, data scientists, and business analysts, the ideal candidate will use their experience in data processing and programming to ensure data is accessible, reliable, and aligned with business needs within a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines under guidance from senior team members
Assist in data integration, transformation, and data preparation efforts
Support the movement of data pipelines into production environments
Work with data scientists and analysts to understand and support data requirements
Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness
Troubleshoot data issues and assist in resolving pipeline or data-related problems
Contribute to documentation of data processes, pipelines, and workflows
Participate in team discussions and contribute to continuous improvement of data practices
Collaborate effectively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or related field
2–4 years of experience in data engineering, programming, or data-related roles
Experience with Python, SQL, or similar programming languages
Familiarity with data processing and data pipeline concepts
Basic understanding of data modeling and data quality principles
Experience working with relational databases
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Desired skills:
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Familiarity with tools such as AWS Glue, Athena, or similar technologies
Experience with data visualization or BI tools
Understanding of Agile methodologies
Exposure to version control tools (e.g., Git)
Interest in learning data engineering best practices and emerging technologies Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
