POSITION: High School Principal
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctoral degree preferred, Master's degree required
Michigan Administrative Certification required
Previous administrative experience preferred
Previous secondary school teaching experience preferred
Knowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
Knowledge of the Danielson Framework for Teaching
Background in instructional technology integration, Depth of Knowledge (DoK), and effective grading practices
Understanding of Michigan State Standards and the Michigan Merit Curriculum/Graduation Requirements
Experience with Early Warning Signs/At Risk interventions
Familiarity with Social Emotional Learning (SEL) tenets
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Building-level curriculum and instructional leadership
Hiring, staff development, supervision, and evaluation
Developing student, school, and staff schedules
Overseeing safety procedures and protocols
Managing the building budget
Communicating with school and community stakeholders
Revising and implementing district and building policies
Supervising co-curricular events and activities
Performing all physical requirements of the position (standing, lifting, walking, etc.)
Assuming other applicable leadership functions and duties as assigned by the Superintendent
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
$109,519 - $117,521 base contract, depending on experience
225 scheduled workdays annually
Annual annuity of 2.5% available for an "effective" evaluation
Additional $3,882 offered annually for a Doctorate Degree
$1,200 annual mileage stipend
Comprehensive retirement and health benefits packages (or $5,000 cash in lieu of health insurance)
Annual paid time off, as follows: 5 Personal Days, 12 Sick Days, 11 Paid Holidays
Longevity compensation, once eligible
Retirement incentives; includes sick bank payout available up to $15,000 upon retirement, if qualified
