Job Posting: Armed Security Guard Manager
Department: Security Reports To: CFO Status: Exempt / Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Armed Security Guard Manager oversees and manages security operations at Central Valley Medical Center to ensure the safety of staff, patients, visitors, and property. This role provides leadership to security personnel, enforces hospital security policies, coordinates emergency response, and performs armed security duties as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Security Leadership & Management
Supervise, schedule, and evaluate security staff; provide training, coaching, and performance feedback.
Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and procedures in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Evaluate security risks, recommend improvements, and coordinate emergency preparedness planning.
Security Operations
Conduct regular patrols and respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies.
Provide visible security presence to deter criminal activity and maintain a safe environment.
Maintain accurate incident reports and enforce hospital policies.
Escort staff, visitors, or assets as needed.
Hospital Safety & Compliance
Support Environment of Care (EOC) programs and Workplace Violence Prevention initiatives.
Assist with safety drills, and OSHA compliance.
Liaise with law enforcement, fire, and emergency agencies.
Security Systems & Access Control
Oversee security cameras and surveillance monitoring.
Manage badge/access control systems and restricted area security.
Review security footage and assist in investigations
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 3-5 years security/police experience; 1-2 years supervisory experience.
Certifications: Valid armed security guard license or Peace Officer Standard and Training (POST) completion.
Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficient in security operations, emergency response, and hospital safety procedures.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physically able to perform security duties, including standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, and lifting.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and make critical decisions during emergencies.
Knowledgeable in firearms safety and responsible handling.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Respects HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
Participates in infection control, fire safety, and OSHA in-services.
Performs other duties as assigned.
