SUMMARY

The Lodging Agent serves as both a reservations agent and front desk agent, playing a critical role in shaping the guest experience from first contact through departure. This position is responsible for promoting and selling Grand Targhee Resort's lodging accommodations, vacation packages, and services while delivering exceptional customer service. In addition to handling inbound sales and reservation inquiries, the Lodging Agent performs essential front desk functions including guest check-in and check-out, on-site guest assistance, issue resolution, and daily operational tasks. This role ensures a seamless and positive guest experience by bridging pre-arrival planning with on-property service, maintaining accuracy in reservations, and providing attentive, solutions-oriented support throughout each guest's stay.

A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Deliver exceptional guest service and promote authentic resort experiences.

Respond to reservation inquiries via phone, chat bot, and email with a focus on sales, service, and accuracy.

Recommend and sell lodging, vacation packages, lift tickets, and resort activities tailored to guest needs.

Provide detailed, accurate information regarding accommodations, amenities, promotions, policies, and regional attractions.

Clearly communicate rates, packages, and policies to avoid misunderstandings.

Follow up on guest inquiries in a timely manner according to established procedures.

Book, modify, and cancel reservations in accordance with company policies.

Process deposits, final payments, and applicable fees accurately.

Send confirmation emails and maintain detailed guest records.

Coordinate with third-party partners to maintain accurate availability and reservations across systems.

Maintain up-to-date and accurate guest data in RTP, Versa, and other reservation platforms.

Check guests in and out efficiently using lodging software systems.

Provide in-house guest support, resolving issues or escalating when necessary.

Accurately process credit transactions and explain guest folios.

Assist with light cleaning and maintaining a welcoming front desk and lobby environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:

Protect the safety of self, workers, and Grand Targhee Resort guests.

Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.

Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.

Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Resort's Occupational Safety & Health Compliance Manual and department-specific procedures or manuals.

Operate equipment safely so that it will not lead to injury to yourself or others.

Drive in accordance with the law and Grand Targhee Resort policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK SCHEDULE

Due to the nature of the recreation industry, we are in operation seven days a week. This includes weekends and holidays and there is no guarantee of hours. Must maintain a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, mornings, evenings, and occasional overnight shifts.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required; related experience preferred. Experience in hospitality, reservations, or customer service strongly preferred. Familiarity with reservation systems (Versa, Inntopia, RTP, Expedia) is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer systems.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate rates, discounts, and percentages. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to accurately read and make measurements.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Excellent verbal communication skills.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
