Extrusion Machine Operator - 2nd Shift $19-$22/hr + Shift Diff
Job Function
The Machine Operator I is responsible for the safe, efficient operation of production equipment used to manufacture high-quality weatherstripping and specialty products. This role works closely with technicians, supervisors, and team members to maintain continuous machine operation and meet production requirements.
After completing training, the operator's primary responsibility is to keep assigned machines running accurately and efficiently. As skills advance, the operator will support technicians with troubleshooting, changeovers, and minor equipment repairs.
Primary Responsibilities
Safety
Follow all safety work practices and standard operating procedures
Support plant and departmental safety initiatives
Quality
Perform quality inspections according to standard work instructions
Ensure all product meets established tolerances and specifications
Accurately complete inspection charts, check sheets, and documentation
Communicate quality issues to the area technician promptly
Productivity
Follow standard work for daily production priorities
Set up and recalibrate equipment in accordance with GMPs and SOPs
Notify technicians of production line issues for timely resolution
Replenish raw materials and remove finished products
Make minor machine adjustments as needed
Perform basic repairs within training and skill level
Documentation
Record machine downtime and reasons
Document when machines return to operation
Record repair needs
Record scrap amounts and reasons for scrap
Other Duties
Maintain a clean, organized work area
Perform other duties as assigned
