Summary

Plans and implements a summer program for Grades 3 - 6 multilingual learners at WIDA ELP level 3 and 4 who are showing limited growth in English Language Development (ELD) and have 5 or more LEP semesters; utilizes best practices in teaching to achieve curriculum goals; manages student behavior; follows pre-designed lessons, activities, and maintains appropriate pacing; provides differentiation and accommodations for students of varied skill levels; attends mandatory in-person and/or virtual training provided prior to and during the session.

Qualifications

Must hold a license issued by the Virginia Department of Education and an English as a Second Language endorsement. Experience in teaching English Language Development for Multilingual Learner (ML) students preferred. Leadership experience and experience providing differentiated and individualized student support, preferred. Ability to develop positive relationships and communicate effectively with staff, students, and families. Knowledge of the instructional practices, techniques, and materials pertaining to the assigned teaching specialty; proficiency in technology; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and varied skill levels in a collaborative learning environment.
