About Your Role
The Construction Scheduler is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining project timelines to ensure construction activities are completed efficiently and on schedule. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to sequence tasks, allocate resources, and track progress against planned milestones. By analyzing delays, adjusting schedules, and identifying potential risks, they help keep projects on track, minimize disruptions, and support timely, cost-effective project delivery.
Education Requirements
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
OR
Bachelors degree in any field from an accredited institution, supplemented by a minimum of six (6) additional years of Construction Scheduling experience in lieu of the specified degree
What Youll Need to Get the Job Done
Minimum of six (6) years of full-time, professional Construction Scheduling experience working for an Owner or General Contractor, preferably on public works or large-scale infrastructure projects
Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (latest version, including P6 v19 or newer) and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce technical reports
Highly developed organizational, analytical, and planning competencies
Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with multidisciplinary project teams
Working knowledge of cost engineering principles, construction scheduling methodologies, and schedule forensics
What Youll Do
Analyze and interpret detailed construction documents (Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Civil) to develop a comprehensive understanding of project scope
Review Contractor Primavera P6 baseline schedules to identify scope gaps, missing logic, milestone inconsistencies, critical path validity, and cost-loading accuracy; provide formalized technical review comments using standardized templates
Evaluate monthly Contractor schedule updates, documenting milestone delays, critical path impacts, and overall schedule health through structured reporting
Perform QA/QC reviews of contractor schedule submittals to ensure contractual compliance
Develop Earned Value Management (EVM) curves and perform associated performance analysis Conduct critical path method (CPM) and earned value analyses to assess schedule performance
Monitor construction progress, identify schedule risks, and recommend mitigation strategies to recover or improve project timelines
Develop or review preliminary construction schedules based on design documents and specifications
Generate and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) derived from Primavera schedules and EVM data; prepare variance reports including root cause analysis and recovery recommendations
Perform Time Impact Analyses (TIA) utilizing Window Analysis techniques, incorporating both contemporaneous and forensic schedule evaluation methodologies
Interpret contract documents to determine scope applicability and evaluate entitlement for compensable and non-compensable time extensions
Communicate schedule-related issues effectively during project meetings and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve concerns
Maintain and update program-level and master schedules, ensuring consistency with established coding structures, layouts, and reporting standards
Prepare technical reports as required by senior management
Conduct site visits, attend coordination meetings, and validate contractor-reported progress against actual field conditions
