We are looking for an Associate Manager, SDS Authoring to join our team in Sofia.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced SDS authoring professional who is ready to take the next step in leadership, or for an early people manager who wants to stay close to the technical work while helping shape a growing local team.
This is a player-coach role, blending people leadership with hands-on authoring and process support.
You will lead a team of Sofia-based specialists while contributing directly to the delivery of high-quality Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and broader regulatory documentation within our EHS Regulatory Documentation (ERD) services.
As a local leader, you will support team development, navigate day-to-day team dynamics, and ensure strong collaboration with global colleagues and customers.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing people leadership, operational oversight, and technical expertise in a fast-moving, highly collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
Lead and support a Sofia-based team
Manage, coach, and develop a team of ERD Authoring specialists based in Sofia
Hold regular 1:1s focused on workload, development, performance, and team support
Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable team environment
Lead performance conversations, goal setting, reviews, and promotion recommendations
Support onboarding and ramp-up of new team members
Stay hands-on in authoring and technical delivery
Prepare and review complex Safety Data Sheets and related regulatory documentation using SAP EHS and related tools
Interpret supplier data to determine chemical composition and apply hazard classification across global regulatory frameworks
Evaluate products for marketability, global inventory, and dangerous goods transport requirements
Contribute to delivery quality, authoring consistency, and timely customer outcomes
Drive team effectiveness and operational excellence
Support resource allocation and capacity planning
Help balance workload and ensure timely, high-quality delivery across the team
Act as a first point of escalation for team and customer-related issues
Partner with delivery managers and cross-functional colleagues to address challenges and improve service
Improve processes and strengthen knowledge sharing
Contribute to authoring guidance, process documentation, and training materials
Identify process gaps and support scalable improvements
Help ensure established workflows and quality standards are followed
Support continuous improvement through audits, coaching, and knowledge sharing
Use technology with confidence and curiosity
Work within a highly system-based and data-rich authoring environment
Use tools, including AI-enabled solutions, responsibly to improve efficiency and quality
Bring an open mindset to new technologies, evolving workflows, and future platform changes
What Makes You a Great Fit
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, toxicology, pharmacy, biologics, or another science-related field
Experience in SDS authoring, hazard communication, regulatory affairs, chemical safety, or a closely related area
Prior experience leading, mentoring, coaching, or coordinating the work of others, or readiness to step into a formal people management role
Strong understanding of chemical regulations and hazard communication frameworks such as GHS, EU CLP, and REACH
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Comfort working in complex systems and with detailed regulatory data
Fluency in English and Bulgarian
Ability to work effectively in a hybrid role with regular in-office presence in Sofia
Preferred
Experience with SAP EHS
Experience with other SDS authoring platforms such as 3E Generate, WERCS, Sphera, or Lisam
Familiarity with dangerous goods transportation regulations such as IATA, IMDG, or CFR
Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT in professional workflows
