About the Role
The Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing multiple residential remodeling projects — including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and additions — from start to finish.
This position coordinates day-to-day jobsite activities, communicates directly with clients, manages schedules, and ensures each project meets J&J’s standards for quality, safety, and craftsmanship. The Project Manager plays a critical role in keeping projects on track, managing details in the field, and delivering a seamless experience for every homeowner.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee 12–24 residential remodeling projects per year (kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions).
Conduct pre-construction, progress, and closeout meetings with clients, trades, and internal teams.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and ensure milestones are met.
Oversee daily field operations, ensuring strong communication with subcontractors and internal teams.
Order materials, verify measurements, and confirm all work meets company quality standards.
Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates and managing expectations throughout the project.
Collaborate closely with Design, Drafting, Sales, and Operations to ensure alignment from start to finish.
Manage change orders, documentation, and progress reporting in Buildertrend or similar project management software.
Balance time between the field (70%) and the office (30%) to maintain visibility and oversight.
Ensure jobsite cleanliness, safety, and craftsmanship standards are consistently upheld.
What We’re Looking For
3+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Lead Carpenter in residential remodeling.
3+ years of rough framing experience as a Project Manager or Lead Carpenter in residential remodeling.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, jobsite management, and trade coordination.
Excellent communication and customer service skills — able to work directly with homeowners and trade partners.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects at once.
Experience with Buildertrend or similar project management software preferred.
Proficient with smartphones, email, and digital tools.
Valid driver’s license.
Must be located within a reasonable commuting distance of Greendale, WI to support time-sensitive jobsite and team needs (typically within 30 minutes).
