Salary Range: $57,000 - $91,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for lathe machines using CAM software or manual G-code.

Select and specify appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices for various part geometries and materials.

Perform program prove-out and first article inspections, troubleshooting and resolving machining issues.

Optimize machining processes to improve cycle times, tool life, and part quality.

Create and maintain detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and operational instructions for machine operators.

Utilize simulation software to verify program accuracy and collision avoidance before machine execution.

Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure manufacturability and meet production schedules.

Recommended Qualifications

Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit) for 2-axis and multi-axis CNC lathe programming.

Extensive experience with G-code and M-code programming, editing, and optimization at the machine control.

Strong ability to interpret engineering blueprints, apply GD&T, and select appropriate tooling/workholding.

Solid understanding of machining principles, material properties, and cutting tool technology for various metals.

Proven capability to troubleshoot program errors, optimize cycle times, and improve part quality.

Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in CNC lathe programming in a manufacturing environment.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience programming multi-axis or live tooling CNC lathes.

Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) for model creation or fixture design.

Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.

Experience with CMM programming or advanced metrology techniques.
