BWC’s core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across BWC departments. Most positions perform work on-site at one of BWC’s seven offices across the state. BWC offers flex-time work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 7:00am or as late as 8:30am. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.
What You'll Be Doing:
We are seeking a detail oriented and technically skilled Software Development Analyst to join our team. This role supports the design, analysis, testing, and implementation of software solutions that enhance the functionality of our internal and external web applications. The ideal candidate has strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of software development practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with development and support program testing and implementation.
Read, write, extract, and report data from organizational website applications.
Work with business partners to identify, analyze, and document system software requirements.
Define problems, develop potential solutions, and provide recommendations based on findings.
Provide post production support for internal and external web applications, including troubleshooting, routine maintenance, functionality verification, and enhancement work.
Support user acceptance testing activities.
Perform software testing such as creating test plans, test cases using tools like Azure DevOps.
Assist with developing, implementing, and monitoring IT quality assurance standards, including test plans, test suites, test cases, and defect tracking.
Contribute to the creation and documentation of standards and criteria for the software development lifecycle.
Communicate with technical and non technical stakeholders across divisions (e.g., Claims, Employer Services) on topics involving testing applications.
Gather, interpret, and apply information from multiple sources to support software development and testing activities.

To Qualify, You Must Clearly Demonstrate:
Required Experience and/or Education:
48 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems AND 30 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
Or completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems AND 24 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: designing and performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications recommending application solutions and/or testing and correcting programs as it relates to testing and implementation and assisting with documentation including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
