Job Overview

We’re looking for a Desktop Support Technician Backfill to join our IT team. You’ll be the go-to person for helping users with their computers, laptops, and mobile devices, fixing hardware and software issues, and keeping everything running smoothly. If you enjoy solving tech problems, working with different systems, and helping people get back on track quickly, this is a great role for you.

What You’ll Do

Help users with desktops, laptops, and mobile devices – both hardware and software issues.

Work with Windows, macOS, and Linux to keep systems performing well.

Use tools like SCCM and Active Directory to manage accounts and deploy software.

Troubleshoot network issues (LAN, TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, etc.).

Support Windows Server environments and help track requests in BMC Remedy.

Handle help desk tickets in ServiceNow and Jira, making sure issues are logged and resolved properly.

Keep hardware inventory up to date and do routine maintenance.

Support remote access and ensure secure VPN and firewall connections.

Collaborate with teammates to quickly diagnose and solve problems.

What We’re Looking For

Experience in desktop or IT support with hardware and software troubleshooting.

Good understanding of Windows, macOS, and Linux systems.

Comfortable with network basics and administration (TCP/IP, DNS, LAN, VPNs, firewalls).

Experience with Active Directory, SCCM, and ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Jira.

Able to troubleshoot hardware issues and support mobile devices.

Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.

Analytical skills to quickly pinpoint and fix tricky problems.

Bonus if you’ve worked with BMC Remedy or similar IT service tools.
