Role Description
We are looking for a Technical Program Manager - Customer Deployments to own the end-to-end delivery of Hammerhead's customer deployments. You will be the single-threaded owner of our flagship engagements - taking Hammerhead's platform from contract signing to live production at customer sites.
You will operate at the seam between Hammerhead's engineering and product teams, our data center partners, and our customers. You will own program plans, milestone tracking, risk management, and stakeholder communications - translating complex technical workstreams into a cohesive delivery timeline. You will also help define the repeatable deployment playbook that Hammerhead will use as we scale to dozens of engagements.
The ideal candidate is an engineer-rooted, hands-on operator with enough technical depth to solve problems and anticipate risks early. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity at a high-growth startup and can toggle between strategic planning and on-the-ground execution in the same day.
Key Responsibilities
Deployment Ownership: Own the end-to-end program plan for customer deployments - from contract execution through go-live - including milestone tracking, budget management, vendor coordination, cross-functional technical integrations, and risk governance across complex, multi-party engagements.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as the central point of contact for partner and customer stakeholders at the executive level, while coordinating internal engineering, product, and commercial workstreams and leading program reviews with concise, data-driven updates.
Playbook & Scale: Define and document Hammerhead's repeatable deployment playbook and TPM frameworks (dashboards, trackers, decision logs) so the team can scale from first engagement to dozens, including resource planning and support for deployment economics and financial modeling.
Technical Depth: Maintain working fluency in data center power, cooling, and compute infrastructure; engage with hardware and infrastructure partners on validation and integration; and translate deployment learnings into product improvements.
Customer success: Be the voice of the customer inside Hammerhead - own post-deployment relationships, monitor adoption and satisfaction, surface product feedback, and ensure customers realize measurable value from the platform so that every deployment becomes a referenceable success story.
QualificationsRequired
5+ years as a Technical Program Manager in data center infrastructure, cloud platforms, AI/ML systems, or energy infrastructure.
Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder deployments involving infrastructure partners, hardware OEMs, and enterprise customers.
Technical fluency in data center power and cooling systems, with the ability to engage credibly with engineers, facility operators, and hardware vendors.
Exceptional written and verbal communication - you can brief an executive on program status in the morning and debug a vendor integration issue in the afternoon.
Comfort with ambiguity and light pre-existing structure; you will build processes from scratch, not inherit a mature PMO.
Daily, active use of AI tools (LLMs, code assistants, automation) to enhance workflows and the TPM function.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.Preferred
Experience at a hyper-growth startup (Series A–C stage) in AI infrastructure, data center, or energy technology.
Familiarity with data center economics: power contracts, infrastructure financing, and service-level frameworks.
Experience with compute infrastructure deployments and related orchestration or automation platforms.
Background in energy markets, power systems engineering, and/or cloud infrastructure operations.
Master's degree in Engineering, MBA, or related field.
