Overview Madison Energy Infrastructure ("MEI") believes in the power of clean energy infrastructure and has quickly emerged as a preeminent developer, investor, asset owner, and operator of distributed generation.
This role represents a critical next step in MEI's evolution toward offering direct, end-to-end services to Fortune 500 corporates, public entities, nonprofits, and other private customers alike.
As a Summer 2026 Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting high-impact initiatives within the Asset Management team.
This role is designed to provide meaningful exposure to the clean energy industry, real project ownership, and the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing organization.
What you'll do * Assist with reviewing solar performance data across a large portfolio of sites * Support the identification of potential underperformance events by organizing and reviewing monitoring data * Help reconcile datasets used in performance analysis and reporting * Assist in validating calculations related to production, irradiance, and performance ratios * Prepare clean datasets and Excel workbooks used by the analysis team * Support the review of open operational tickets by checking basic data consistency * Help identify missing data, communications gaps, or obvious anomalies in monitoring systems * Assist in preparing summary tables or simple dashboards used in internal reporting * Document analysis steps so work can be repeated or reviewed easily * Communicate clearly about progress, blockers, and questions What we're looking for * Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, data science, statistics, economics, finance, or a related analytical field * Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data organization) * Comfort working with structured datasets and basic statistical concepts * Exposure to SQL, Python, or R is helpful but not required * Interest in renewable energy, infrastructure, or operational analytics * Strong attention to detail and willingness to double-check work * Ability to manage assigned tasks and meet deadlines * Clear written communication and professional email etiquette * Curiosity and willingness to learn quickly Location & Schedule: This is a full-time (40 hours per week), hybrid internship based in our Tysons, VA office.
Interns will work four days per week in-office and one day remotely to maximize in-person collaboration and exposure to the business.
The 10-week program runs from June 1 through August 7, 2026.
Interns will participate in our all-company offsite on June 24, 2026 as part of their immersive experience.
The office will be closed in observance of Juneteenth (June 19, 2026) and Independence Day (July 3, 2026). Commitment & Compensation: This is a paid internship.
The hourly pay range for this role is $20-$40.
Compensation within this range is determined based on factors including academic level (undergraduate vs.
graduate), year in program, and relevant experience.
